I Am Nourished
We all know that water is the basis of life, or do we really? Our bodies are 75% water but this is the ratio when we are born, scientists believe that by the time we are 30, most of our total water content has dropped to 57-60%! So if this drop has occurred, imagine the impact of dehydration on our bodies, our skin and our sparkle! Our bodies rely on us getting the hydration needed to function properly, to carry the nutrients around our body, reduce inflammation and help our skin to feel plump like that plum!
Science tells us that we need 33 (ML) of water for each kg of our body weight. So for a 70kg person, they need 2310ml litres (2.31 litres). Now before you gasp and become horrified about the amount you’ll have to drink and the thought of peeing every two minutes, remember a lot of plant foods have a high water content, herbals teas and soups do as well as our lovely green smoothies! So this helps up the consumption.
Remember here, the more we drink caffeine and alcohol means that our bodies are then becoming dehydrated again so we would then need to add more water in to make up for this. Fruits and veggie are mostly over 70% water so the more of these we eat, the more this helps with hydration as well. Start to listen to your body with how thirsty it is, if you feel that you need more water after one glass, this is your body saying it would like more, but sometimes a sip is just enough. Trust that your body is getting it right, it’s sometimes our mind that plays tricks on us!
Mini challenge – can you commit to drinking 2 litres of water a day – this is to get you into the habit of flushing out your system and hydrating yourself properly, because most of our bodies are really like prunes, waiting to plump out into a ripe, delicious plum!

Let’s get that skin plump, luscious and glowing!
One way to add more water and veggies into our days, are to include green smoothies & soups (for chilly days)!
Green Smoothies:
Green smoothies aren’t a revolutionary idea. They are simple. Yet soooo effective. And that’s why I love them. You can pack SO many nutrients into one simple drink, that have so many skin loving benefits and can be digested by your body super easily, that there is literally nothing bad about smoothies.
So here’s some ideas to follow:
Handful of greens (if you can go more then do!)
Floret of broccoli (promise you won’t taste it)
One banana
1 tablespoon chia
1 tablespoon flaxseeds
1 teaspoon honey
Top up with almond milk
or
2 PORTIONS OF VEGGIES
1 PIECE OF FRUIT
1 GUT LOVING TBS
1 SKIN LOVING EFA
1 SWEET LOVING / GREAT FOR YOU TSP
TOPPED UP WITH MYLK.
If you look at that smoothie right there, see all the delicious ingredients going into your body. Now don’t freak out about the 2 veggies going in there, I promise you won’t taste them because I am a huge fan of everything sweet, so I’ve made this yummy so you can’t taste anything but deliciousness.
Green Soup:
Saute Onion/leek/garlic this makes it delicious
Add in any greens you’ve got in the fridge Broccoli, kale, asparagus, spinach
Top tip – adding a little sweet potato, squash or coconut milk helps to make it creamier
Saute all your veggies
Add in any herbs or spices you fancy
Pour over some veggie broth or a broth of your choice
Simmer until all the veggies are soft
Blend and eat! Super Simple
You can top with Nuts, seeds, nutritional yeast, micro greens, anything you fancy.
I normally make a big batch, keep some in the fridge and pop some in the freezer. You can pretty much do this with any veg, it’s a great way to use up leftover veg at the end of the week.
I would love to know how you get on
Sending Love
