ACUPUNCTURE FACIAL TREATMENT
Experience a truly unique facial experience focusing on total wellness and rejuvenation. Encompassing the ancient modality of acupuncture on the body, face & ears to bring the body into balance alongside leading bio technology, potent botanical skincare and advanced facial sculpting massage.
Cosmetic acupuncture is known as the natural facelift. Using specific points to lift, sculpt, drain fluid, move stagnation, reduce pigmentation, and acne scarring.
Whilst the carefully placed needles work their magic you will receive hydrogen inhalation therapy and red-light therapy this works at a cellular level to boost immunity, improve collagen and cellular energy production, and increase longevity. Whilst receiving these treatments I will utilise frequency therapies, reiki, and sound to help restore balance to your overall system .
After we have removed the needles you will glide further into relaxation as you receive a facial massage designed to work with each muscle in the face to lengthen, sculpt and restore flow. This massage extends to the chest, neck, shoulders and scalp.
Finally we work with facial cupping, Gua Sha, cryotherapy and targeted skincare to finish your journey.
Whilst Cosmetic acupuncture is often referred to as an alternative to botox its function is very different. Botox has an immediate freezing effect on the muscle and disconnects nerve communication which can leave the skin lacking vital nutrients to remain healthy over a long period of time. Cosmetic acupuncture works by improving the health of the body and skin as a whole. It works by creating a micro injury to the skin known as collagen induction. This creates a healing response, improving blood flow to movement lines, bringing with it a level of rejuvenation. Whilst results vary from person to person, and they can appear after one session, we are setting off reactions within the body that accumulate over time. To get the full benefits from the incredible treatment it as been found that 6 treatments over the course of 3 months followed by maintenance sessions every 6-8 weeks like a normal facial.

Does it hurt?
This really is something we cannot answer as everyone is so different, some people are aware and some people go to sleep. Acupuncture is a relatively painless treatment due to the fine needles that are used in the modern acupuncture clinic. We use specialist needles and employ techniques that reduce sensation even on the most sensitive areas of the face. The small intradermal thrive needles we use are not scary to look at and are even more painless and effective than normal acupuncture needles.
How long until the results show?
From the first treatment there will be changes as we adjust muscle tone, release scar tissue, reduce inflammation and hydrate your skin. It will depend on the treatment specifics - it’s designed for you. This is, however, a progressive treatment and we set off a series of gradual changes. Think of a nurtured plant and how that develops over time in the right environment.
How long will they last?
Health and wellbeing is key to seeing results and maintaining them. So, lifestyle - particularly diet, hobbies and other activities may have contributed to the problem in the first place. You will receive ‘constitutional’ acupuncture to help progress treatments and improve your health and relaxation at the same time. This is significant for achieving and maintaining outcomes. Improved sleep and having more energy is regularly reported as unexpected benefits by our patients. We do recommend regular maintenance treatments which may be monthly and then spread to longer periods.
What are the long term results like?
My teacher Amanda tells her patients “You will never be the same again - in a good way!” With our teamwork strategies and your new understanding, we regularly see issues continue to improve well beyond sessions in our clinic.
Is there any ‘down time’ or side affects?
It is common to see a rosy flush/glow in the skin as circulation is improved. This will pass quickly, with our skincare assisting with this. We will take a detailed medical history, plan and adjust your treatment to avoid bruising which is a risk in any facial procedure. That said, the Acuregen method in which I am trained in is particularly aimed at reducing trauma to skin and beneath, pain and bruising risk. Treatments that create trauma can be less effective, carry risks and reduce the very tissue response they are trying to promote.
About your practitioner
Alice has been trained by TCM specialist and Master Amanda Shayle at AcuRegen this is an in person training in Auricular (Ear) Microsystem acupunture, front body balancing acupuncture and cosmetic acupuncture, micro needling and advanced massage techniques.
How long are the sessions?
The initial session will be approximately 2 hours and we require you to come hydrated and having eaten something that day. We will go through your consultation form together that you will have been sent prior and completed.
If you have chosen the course we will go through a 6 session treatment plan together.
Your following sessions will be approximately 90 minutes. It is recommended these sessions be weekly or fortnightly to see the best results. Auricular is recommended more frequently for acute pain relief.
You will be lying on the treatment table, access is required to the feet, legs, arms, hands, chest, neck, face and scalp. Everywhere else will be covered in a blanket.
Alice will insert the needles into various acupuncture points on the body depending on the treatment plan, feedback is welcomed during this time as your start to feel shifts in the body. Once all the needles are in place, if appropriate the LED Dermaluxe mask will be placed over the face and Celluma may be placed over the legs or feet and we will allow the needles to do their job for around 20-30 minutes. The needles will be removed, followed by some gentle massage and targeted skincare products.
Aftercare
After your session you are advised not to use a sauna, go swimming, take a bath or hot shower, exfoliate for 2 days after your treatment. Skincare will be advised. Sometimes bruising can occur although we take all precautions for this not to happen, if you have a big event coming up within 3 days please let Alice know and we can offer a sculpting facial massage instead or push your treatment
