How to Find Your Joy
Welcome to the Kyushi pillars, each week I discuss the areas of holistic wellness I believe to be crucial in getting glowing healthy skin from the inside out. (Alongside some great products of course) Lets begin…
How We Exist in the World
As we work our way around the circle of Life (Link below to download and join in) this week we land on JOY. Take a moment now to think about what brings you joy in your day to day life and how we can inject a little more daily joy.
This week mine have been: Catching up with some of my favourite girls, drinking wine & laughing. Seeing our little duckling each morning, your emails of Kyushi love, your Kyushi support, seeing my family, walks on the beach and ‘This is Us’ on Netflix were obsessed. Have you seen it?

The Products We Use
Joy inducing Kyushi products
Orange & Neroli face oil
The organic orange Essential Oil’s beautiful scent has a cheerful and uplifting yet simultaneously relaxing, calming effect that helps reduce the pulse rate. It can not only create a warm environment but can also stimulate the strength and resilience of the immune system and eliminate airborne bacteria. When you apply it topically It is beneficial for maintaining the health, appearance, and texture of skin by promoting clarity, radiance, and smoothness, thereby reducing the signs of acne and other uncomfortable skin conditions woop woop!
Red Light Therapy
If you have never tried red light therapy it feels like sitting in the sunshine (without the tan 😂) Not only is it amazing for your physical health but there is research on all different types of light, blue, green, white but out of all of the lights red seems to have demonstrated to be equal to the others for MMD (Major depressive disorder - or depression) and have more all round health benefits compared to the others.
It can be used in conjunction with other light therapies if desired too. Research shows that using red light therapy twice a day stimulating sunrise and sunset seems to be the best method for treating MMD and balancing the circadian rhythm.
Orange & Neroli Candle
The opportunity to fill your environment with the uplifting scent of Orange Essential Oil.
“Honestly Alice your candle is literally one of my favourites EVER. It fills the room almost immediately after lighting it” Rosie
Movement & Energy Flow
Your Joyful Happy Hormones:
Dopamine. Also known as the “feel-good” hormone, dopamine is a hormone and neurotransmitter that’s an important part of your brain’s reward system. Dopamine is associated with pleasurable sensations, along with learning, memory, motor system function, and more.
Serotonin. This hormone (and neurotransmitter) helps regulate your mood as well as your sleep, appetite, digestion, learning ability, and memory.
Oxytocin. Often called the “love hormone,” oxytocin is essential for childbirth, breastfeeding, and strong parent-child bonding. This hormone can also help promote trust, empathy, and bonding in relationships, and oxytocin levels generally increase with physical affection like kissing, cuddling, and sex.
Endorphins. Endorphins are your body’s natural pain reliever, which your body produces in response to stress or discomfort. Endorphin levels also tend to increase when you engage in reward-producing activities, such as eating, working out, or having sex.

You can boost these by moving, exercising, get outside in the sun, laugh, socialise. There are various whole food supplements available as well if you are struggling to produce these happy hormones by yourself (its really common), if you are struggling with depression or anxiety it could be worth checking that you’re able to produce all of these effectively.
