How to relax when your brain won’t let you..

Here's my top tips to attaining relaxation when your brain simply just wont stop!

Breathe

Yep super simple, super free, and super powerful. Stop what you're doing for a moment and focus on making your exhale longer than your inhale. Count in for 4 and out for 6 this signals to your nervous system that you are safe and you can relax. Genius.

Essential Oils

I'm using Orange & Neroli facial oil in the mornings to boost my energy and calm that constant list making anxiety, allowing me to actually get out from under the covers and start the day! Heading into my office I start burning an Orange & Neroli Candle too, the natural sound of the wick burning is so calming too. Half way through the day I pop a little diluted organic Geranium essential oil in the palm of my hands and inhale its such a nourishing scent that youll be seeing soon in the Kyushi collection too... Exciting!

Weve made it through the day woop woop, crossed some things off the list now its time to get out the Jasmine Lavender & Cedarwood facial oil & Candle, a lovely slow facial gua sha massage and i'm almost ready to hit the hay.

I pop a little diluted Vetiver on my feet just before I go to sleep, its a beautiful grounding & relaxing essential oil.

A Sleepy Drink

Remember when a cup of warm milk was what the doctor ordered to get you to close those eyes when you were little, the same goes for now. Theres an amazing book called moon milk full of incrediable adaptogen based plant based drinks. We love Cacao, Maca & Coconut milk.

Sound Therapy

I am lucky enough to have crystal alchemy singing bowls I use for private clients and group sound baths, spending a few minutes sitting and playing relaxes my nervous system immediately, if you want to have a listen pop in some headphones and click here. (Scroll to the bottom)

Sleep Stories, Hypnotherapy & Meditation

If my brain is still spinning I pop on a sleep story from the calm app or listen to my prescibed hypnotherapy session from the amazing Desi to relax my body and ensure i'm not going to grind my teeth away while i’m sleeping.

I hope some of my findings help you relax when you need too.

Sending Love

Alice xx
