The 5 Kyushi Pillars of Skin Health

Welcome to the 5 Kyushi Pillars of Skin Health. Once a month I do a deep dive into these 5 areas which covers all aspects of mind body and spirit.

What We Use

I had the pleasure of creating a beautiful bronzed glowy makeup look this week inspired by the image below and I wanted to share a few of my favourite products for creating the look.

Skin Prep is everything for this look, an enzyme exfoliation the day prior to remove any dry dull areas then I always apply a kyushi oil & lip balm prior to makeup application. Use your chosen foundation, Westman Atelier is one of my favourites. Kjaer Weis - Bronzer in Lustrous & radiance I use a medium fluffy brush to apply these, apply the bronzer in a 3 shape from the forehead, on top of the cheekbone and a light dusting along the jawline. Add highlighter where ever you would like it, the common places are on top of the cheekbone, and cupids bow.

Kosas duo palette - this is more of a matt bronzer and I would apply the bronzer in the same way then use ring finger to tap the highlighter into place. Love all the colour variations here.

Take the Kyushi Skin Quiz to find the right Face oil for you to create your perfect makeup canvas. .

Mind Nourishment

Glennon Doyle has a podcast - We can do hard things and by golly gosh its wonderful, I’ve been a super fan since listening to her best-selling book ‘untamed’ if you haven’t read it yet, I really recommend adding it to your summer time reading list.

Movement & Energy Flow

Ive had the pleasure of receiving & sharing sound and reiki recently. I went to the most incredible gong bath in an apple orchard in Norfolk. Im bringing crystal sound healing to groups and individuals for the rest of the year. Its the easiest therapy to receive, you simply lie in a comfortable space, close your eyes and let the sonic vibrations work their way through your mind & body, raising your vibration at a cellular level. I also incorporate a different Kyushi essential oil blend within the session to deepen your experience.

To join a group session:

Physical Nourishment

The secret to success is forward planning, when hanger takes over having something you can easily grab will stop you reaching for something less nourishing. These granola bars can be eaten morning, noon and night, nutrient dense and jam packed with good fats. You could even add in some dark chocolate (conscious chocolate is my favourite) or cacao nibs. They also last for quite a while in the fridge wooo.

If you have been following the Olympics, I’m personally in awe of the gymnast Simone Biles for showing up as the truest version of herself, knowing and honouring the limits of her mental and physical health. A true role model. Read more about her incredible journey here.
